Yes, you hear it right! I finished this game in 3 days, but that doesn't mean it was an easy game. This is really the best MG game I have ever played in my life! The ending was an experience I have never felt before, I got all sorts of different emotions from it. The ending was really nice made. I will definitely play this game again, I also have to find some remaining extra's.
In total I played 23 hours.
BTW, I laughed like 10 min. long when I saw the Raikov scene where Snake steals his close! ;D

Yeah, the ending almost brings a tear to the eye. It's very moving.
Hehe, I relished the Raikov portions of the game as well. Fun stuff.

I remember my first run though it. I was sitting in my computer chair. When the credits started to role, I realized that I've been standing. A hell of an ending.

I remember laying on the bed and just getting up and sitting, stunned.
I loved the timeline part.

When I saw Snake saluting The Boss' grave with a tear rolling down one cheek, I realized I had one in my eye too. I couldn't believe how powerful the ending was.

I loved the ending of MGS1 and I didn't think it could be beat, especially after the somewhat anti-climactic and sloppy ending of MGS2. But MGS3 blew everything away. It will be hard to top that one.

I completed it too, last saturday with a total of 19 hours and 44 minutes on the clock. What an experience, what a game, what an ending! Awesome! Just that word: awesome! I'll say it again: AWESOME!!! The game's gameplay experience is just a new mile-stone in my humble gamer-existence. I'll give you a list of my pro's & cons. (it's filled with spoilers, so don't read it Anthony) Best scene: Hell, the end of the game of course! Damn, what a good ending. The music is perfect, the setting is perfect, BB's attitude in the scene is perfect... a perfect ending! Best Boss-battle: Motorcycle chase + Shagohod. Althought way too friggin' easy, I really enjoyed this battle. The music was really cool, the Shagohod is cool, the conclusion is cool! The fact you have unlimited ammo is cool too btw. Best character: Naked Snake. I really like him! He's totally different from Solid Snake, yet so regonisable! And his relationship with the Boss is really well thought about and worked out very good! Worst scene: There is none. There is not a single scene in the game where I thought: "Ow, please, get on with it!". Funniest scene: Eva takes the transmitter out of Snake! Hilarious! Most disappointing boss-fight: The answer is already in the question. The battle against The Boss was really diappointing for me. All I had to do was put on Snow camo, and then I could snipe her with the Mk22 and obtain the Snake camo. Way too easy. And whenever she got too near me I kicked her ass with CQC! WTF? She kicked Snakes ass in all the cutscenes and now I defeat her with two fingers in my nose? Really, really disappointing. But then again, her death is the best death of a boss-character ever. Really moving and emotional. Most thrilling boss-battle: The End. Damn, he's cool. Really tense. I took me exactly one hour to finish him. In the beginning he;s hard, but once you obtain his Moss-camo he becomes quite easy. Best new gameplay system: Well, it's really hard to choose between the Camo-system and CQC (the Cure system isn't that great, I think), but in the end I'll go for CQC. The amount of stuff you can do with this is unbelievable! I tried to take down everybody in the game with CQC, and in the end I found myself having only wasted about five or six shots on non-boss characters. I did em all with just my loyal CQC Survival Knife! Awesome! Overall: Overal, this is just a great game! a 9.7 out of 10. Why not a complete 10, you might ask? Because the story isn't really of the level of the previous MG games. I never thought I would be saying this, but I think there are too few cutscenes. I just can't help but have the feeling I'm missing some big part of the story, or not know as much as I want to know. The story isn't really deep either. Just about the Philosophers Legacy, which is just a huge amount of money. And also, overall (on Normal difficulty) the game is too easy. I don't really mean the normal areas, they are of standard high-MG-quality, but the Boss fights. They are way too easy. Ocelot can be done by just standing behind a rock shooting him on sight. The Pain is just a matter of diving underwater and constantly shoot him with the AK-47. The Fear is just a matter of shooting him on sight with the thermal goggles equipped. The End can easily be done with the Directional Microphone. The Fury can be done by just lying down on the plateau to the north and shooting him with the SVD. The Sorrow is a unique experience, I give you that, but in reality he's just one long stroll up the river. Volgin is way to easy: you can just blast him with the M37. The motorcycle chase and then the Shagohod is a very cool battle, but also easy as hell. And The Boss I've mentioned above. I certainly hope the bosses are tougher on Hard. I did all these without dying once! There, that was my humble opinion!

Yes, this game was absolutly amazing. No doubt the best game ever, the plot, the gameplay and the bosses are beyond compare.
Great job once again, Konami and Kojima-San!

Scene's I liked the most:
The Raikov scene of course!
Also the scene where Ocelot comes in the escape plane and makes a duel with Snake and telling eachother there real names!
The ending scene where EVA and Snake are making love at the fire in the house, then Snake sees EVA is gone. He listens to the message from EVA explaining everything to him you see Snake sitting there and thinking: "Damn!", and while EVA explains everything you see Snake at the graveyard and at the President's while the perfect music plays. It really maked me cry 1 tear!
Then when the timeline started to role I then realized it the most that Kojima set everything perfectly up! I was sitting there and I was watching amazed at the screen while the credits where starting to role! A game has never done that to me!

See, that's what makes me so concerned about the next title. Every game thus far in the main series has been an improvement over the previous. Granted that can be argued in terms of MGS1 story and MGS2 story. But in general, it has been a constant step up with each title.
How the hell do you beat MGS3? How do you surpass a work of art of that caliber? Especially with Kojima not in the director's seat...

It will indeed going to be tough toping MGS3, but I think with the next generation consoles and the power they will provide it will reach there somehow I hope.

MGS3 can only be surpassed if Kojima is the director! If he's not it's impossible or it would be REALLY hard!

Exactly. Hell, even when Kojima is directing and there is a new console involved it doesn't mean a complete success. Think back to MGS1 vs MGS2. Kojima directed MGS2 and it had the advantage of the PS2 superiority over the PSone. Still, MGS1 holds it's own, nobody can dispute that. Though MGS2 did improve on a lot of issues, it can never be said to be a "better" game than MGS1.
MGS4 will be a dissapointment unless they really put a lot of effort into it. It has to be at least as good as MGS3.

That's a good comparison! Of course graphics can make a game better, but making a good game with a good story is a different thing...
