Footage from first PS3 Metal Gear to be shown at Sony conference
"Metal Gear Solid 4 footage will be publicly shown tonight for the first time ever, gamesradar.com can reveal.

Clips from the game will be shown at Sony Computer Entertainment America's pre-E3 press conference, which takes place in Culver City, Los Angeles at 11pm (UK time).

As we revealed back in March, the game will be released for as-yet-unspecified next-generation consoles, although today's news suggests that the game will debut on PlayStation 3.

The game will be the first that isn't produced by Metal Gear mastermind Hideo Kojima, who is moving on to another next-gen project (details of which are also expected to be announced at tonight's Sony event).

We're in LA at this very moment and will be reporting live from tonight's Sony and Microsoft conferences, which will be closely followed by tomorrow's Nintendo shindig.

Expect an avalanche of news, analysis, screenshots, photos and - yes - footage direct from sunny California over the coming week..."

Footage so fast? I dont think we'll see alot of "cool" stuff considering this will be early work footage...but ya never know.

I doubt there will be much of anything to see except maybe a few plot details, anonymous character designs, and a few baffling screenshots.

- Hideo Kojima is confirmed as writing the story/script for MGS4.

- A Metal Gear Solid 3 "Substance" equivilant is confirmed. It will feature an upclose camera option.

- The trailer for MGS4 is just a teaser created on PS2 technology. There is no actual footage of MGS4 on PS3 technology.

The following is a description of the video:

"It starts off with Snake hiding behind a small brick building as a bunch of bad guys hover together in a large group on the other side. A large bomb drops, destroying the building except the wall Snake's leaning against. After a slight pause, the wall falls forward and then the words "No Room To Hide" appear. Snake starts running away with the enemies chasing close behind.

They arrive at a circle of director chairs and it turns into a race to see who can get into all the chairs first. In the end, there's only one chair remaining and as Snake runs towards it, a badguy runs passed. Snake grabs him and flips him over onto his back and as he turns to get into the chair another badguy sits down in it.

Snake then pulls out an AK-47 and obliterates the circle of enemies occupying the chairs. He turns towards the camera and pulls off his mask to reveal Raiden. Now only one chair remains standing and as Raiden walks towards it. 3 lights (ala SplinterCell) approach the same chair from across the way. It's Snake dressed up in the SplinterCell goggles but the top color of the 3 light formation is red instead of green. He's using the trademark Splinter Cell stealth movement animation.

They race to the chair and begin to battle. Snake kicks Raiden's ass and he goes plummeting off the edge. Snake sits down to finally rest in the chair as it fades to black.

All of this teaser footage has many messages being displayed intermittent throughout. The models look to all be current generation models.

It's not up yet. I'm keeping a close eye on GameSpot and IGN right now. But it's about 1 am over here and I think I'll be heading to bed now. Hopefully we'll see something in a few hours.

And the whole MG4 teaser story is a bit strange. Where did you get that info from? Solid Snake in a Splinter Cell suit? But the rest is funny! Can't wait to actaully see it.

Snake doing all that like Sam, it's more like a joke to Splinter Cell saying that they can do all that stuff too. I dont think that was a serious trailer, it was more like saying to SP , "Look we can do this too if we want, but we're not. We're gonna do something different you can't do."

Anyways, have you guys seen the pic on Gamespot? Looks like Meryl's back in action. Ocelot is there, of course. Vamp is seen all the way on the left, after all he never did die on MGS2. And, is that guy with the sword Gray Fox?! All the way to the right, is Naomi! About time, she needs to explain about the changes she did to FoxDie. Theres a new guy that kinda looks like Psycho Mantis, I wonder who that is. And Snake looks OLD AS HELL!!

edit: lol thats not gray fox, thats raiden holding olga's baby. anyways, yah i just read the review and the trailer was nothing serious, it was just something comical stating that MGS4 IS under production.
