PlayStation 3 - debute next week!

Sony Computer Entertainment of America confirmed tonight that they will debut their next PlayStation platform at the upcoming Game Developer's Conference, according to the company. Bracing themselves for the largest showing at the conference in their history, Sony will divulge more information on their new platform (which is currently being called the PlayStation 3) along with the PSP, PS2, and new EyeToy innovations they have planned.

"Developers are an enormous part of our success as they drive content and innovation forward, making PlayStation the best gaming experience for millions of consumers worldwide," said Andrew House, executive vice president, Sony Computer Entertainment America. "The Game Developers Conference enables us to collaborate with developers, share with them our vision for game development for new PlayStation platforms, and demonstrate our commitment to the global development community."

This year's Game Developer's Conference is scheduled to take place from March 7-11.

When ever the Xbox 2 or Nintendo Revolution comes out is when the PS3 will come out.
But i heard only the xbox2 was coming out in 2005?
and the Nintendo Revolution and PS3 were gonna come out 2006??
Which is a bad move for sony if Xbox2 gets released before the PS3.
But i highly doubt that will happen.
Sony know what there doing.
I just hope the PS3 will be innovative and with the HIGHEST GRAPHICS out of all 3 consoles! With alot of 3rd party support!

Whoa, whoa. Don't get your hopes up so quickly, now. If they're just showing it off now, that means they probably won't release it until next year at the soonest. I expect it to be released in Q4 of 2006. Just in time for the holiday sesason. There won't be a christmas tree out there without a PS3 underneath it.

No, they wouldn't release it that soon. They have to give you plenty of time to really want it. If they announce it and then release it 6 months later, word will hardly spread, and sales will be low.

I know I would have mine pre-ordered the very day it was announced. Just like with MGS3.

Damn, this is great news. I expected something like this, because Sony has already revealed the PS3 chip (a 4 GHz chip BTW), so this couldn't be far off! Can't wait!
