That's right. I heard this on the local news. Finally they say something I care about.
The PS3 was supposed to be released, like, yesterday in Japan, and sometime in the Spring in the US. But now, Sony is holding it back 6 months due to something to do w/ Blu-ray and copyright protection. So expect it maybe in November.

Good. Though I'm sure that that's just a cover story. Something isn't working right just yet, hence the hold up. But I rather they work on it more. I want the PS3 to kick 360's ass.

Oh, AG, No contest.
What's the 360 got going for it? Halo 3 and malfunctions? Crappy reverse compatibility? But what does the PS3 got going for it?
MGS4 Devil May Cry 4 Armored Core 4 Vision Gran Turismo Tekken 6 Turok! Smackdown 8 Resident Evil 5 Scarface Elder Scrolls 4 GTA 4 Killzone PS3 Silent Hill 5 The list goes on!

I couldn'nt of said it better. I hate XBOX fanboys, the system has sucked since day 1. Sure the PS2 isn't quite as powerful but it sure produced great games in genre, original work. I mean c'mon, Metal Gear Solid trilogy vs. Halo? Pfftt, Big Boss and Snake would run a train on Master Chief

I couldn't help but notice how many of those on that list are sequels. Wow...nothing but sequels these days. As long as they're good...
I've been enjoying the heck out of my buddy's Xbox 360. I've really enjoyed games like Abandoned, Tiger Woods Golf '06, Battlefield 2 is coming out on it...I like it, not sure what the fuss is about.

Yeah, I noticed alot of them are 4.
Scarface and Killzone are the only non sequels. I guess Killzone is a remake.

Yup, I read about this here: ps3.ign.com/articles/695/695693p1.htmlI dont really care. As long as they have everything working good on the release date, then Im happy. Plus, if it were released in Spring in America, I wouldnt be able to buy it, cause I have no money! lol Anyways, at first I thought it was going to be released in Japan first, then we'd have a 2007 release (since it's being released in Japan on Nov). Well, was I wrong. Cause according to this... www.ps3portal.com/ps3/article/311.htmlJapan is shipping out the PS3 WORLDWIDE in November. Now thats good news.

With that said, Im worried about the price. There are rumors that it may be 600 bananas. Yaoza!

But $600 dollars... It's worth it. Like spending 2k for an iMac (which I recently did), for something of quality, is worth spending that much money

True. But there are people like me who just want a simple gaming machine. Im really impressed with everything the PS3 will be capable of, but Im mostly gonna use it for play simple games. I dont a DVD player, I dont want a hard drive, I don't want online capability, I don't even want backward compatibility (I have the previous consoles), I just want a freaking game system. And it's a shame that people like us have to spend more money for services we may never use.

As of March 2006, Sony has announced an estimated retail price of $500 for the PS3. Sony Computer Entertainment president and "father of the PlayStation" Ken Kutaragi has been quoted as saying "It'll be expensive" and "I'm aware that with all these technologies, the PS3 can't be offered at a price that's targeted towards households. I think everyone can still buy it if they wanted to" and "but we're aiming for consumers throughout the world. So we're going to have to do our best [in containing the price]". In contrast Kaz Hirai, president of Sony Computer Entertainment America, has stated the PS3 will not be expensive and that it will be competitively priced against the Xbox 360. Ken Kutaragi also expressed little concern over the PS3's possibly high launch price, believing that customers would be willing to pay extra for a superior product, as they had in the past for the original PlayStation (¥39,800 vs. ¥12,500 for the Super Famicom).

Did you keep reading it, dude? It says it'll be priced to compete with the 360.
And I got that off Wikipedia, of course.
