MGS4 had nothing to do with The Sorrow or Ocelot's past. And the whole arm possesion thing was left vague enough to debate.
Further more, Ocelot is no longer an issue in the Metal Gear canon. I'm sorry to thow a potential spoiler your way, but if you choose to keep up with the MGS5 news you have to be familar with MGS4. There is no way around that.

So? The MPO Big Boss promotional model was great, easily on par with the MGS3. I see no reason why they can't make one good closeup for a promotional image. It's not screenshot, afterall, just a promotinal teaser. Not even comparable. This is clearly a model meant to be used, and thus I ask, how could Raiden and Big Boss possibly be in the same game? I think this is Metal Gear Solid: Existence, a sort of journey through the whole MGS universe where every character is revisited. That would explain how two characters that couldn't interact with each other could still be in the same game. Also, Kojima said in the new Famitsu interview that this game is not what people expect it to be. So I figure, it isn't a real game at all.

I really could live with that.
1. It doesn't conflict the promised finale of the Saga in MGS4.
2. We don't have to have Solid Snake back.
3. It would be made up of smaller missions, similar to MGS4, a concept that appeals to me.
4. It would work well as Expanded Universe along side Portable Ops. It would be nice to finally have a concrete banner to have MPO listed under. This would be perfect.
5. We would not need to have any life-changing expectations since it would be made up of "filler" missions.
It would work well and something I can see going multi-platform as well.

My girlfriend said it best... "You idiot... it's not an "S" or a "5". It's a "$" sign that means they get to cash in on your fanboism AGAIN!"

I would be all for a Metal Gear 1 remake, I noted that on the "Decipher this" page, someone commented on how the insignia on his beret was SAS related, and Major Zero was part of the SAS...right?
Ahhh! I'm going to the MGF homepage to get some refresher on this series!

I would like it if this wasnt even a game, but a CGI movie like they they did with FFVII. The story could be two stories (bb in the past and raiden in the future) and they would back and forth like the storytelling format in the series LOST (best f...cking tv show btw). But alas it is a game.

Information givin in the interview:
- It's a single project/game and covers more than one period of time.
- It's not a Solid title, but Kojima says it's part of the mainstream series and is in the same school as the rest of the "Metal Gear Solid Saga" up to now, so it's definitely canon.
- The new game title is Metal Gear XXXXX XXX (X=censored)
- The mark on Big Boss's hat is important.
- It takes place somewhere after something happens to cause something.
First I thought this could be an expansion, just as Substance or Subsistence. But now I'm really confused, I have no idea what this will turn out to be.

Don't think it's Big Boss. Kojima made it a point, several times, to not call him that.

Solid Snake and Liquid, they don't wear an eye patch. And it's not Solidus, he wears his eye patch on the left eye. That only leaves Big Boss.

Look outside the box, beyond the obvious. Can you show any evidence it's not Johnny grown up? Heck, side-by-side screens even suggest some similarities with Otacon's face.
You never know what Kojima will pull out of the bag. ;D

And the Raiden dude. I bet that's either Gray Fox, Sunny or Raiden's kid. But I'm leaning towards it being Sunny the most. If you look at the teaser site, the wheather has gone from couldy and thunder to... sunny.

That DEFINATELY is not Raiden or his son. Their eyes are grey or white. That person's eyes are orange. And the other guy being Otacon...? Holy sh*t I just had a deja vu. When I finished MGS4, I thought how funny it would be if the remaining people (otacon, meryl, etc etc) would become the "next Major Zero and company" with Solid Snake as thier role model, as The Boss was to Zero and the others.
