Holy sh*t I just had a deja vu. When I finished MGS4, I thought how funny it would be if the remaining people (otacon, meryl, etc etc) would become the "next Major Zero and company" with Solid Snake as thier role model, as The Boss was to Zero and the others.

While I definitely see the parallel you are making, it would make for a repetetive storyline that simply would not be worth touching. Why rehash? The series is already notorious for repeating many elements.

But you are right, there are potential parallels there:

Big Boss - Solid Snake
Zero - Campbell
Eva - Meryl
ParaMedic - Mei Ling
Sigint - Otacon

Yeah I know rehashing the same story would suck, never said it'd be good. ><
But if he does then maybe Hideo plans to make it so this new group doesnt do the same mistakes as the old one and are actually fighting for the good of the world? Following the ORIGINAL Philophers' philosophy of a world without war? A story after MGS4 ( without Snake ) COULD work if done correctly. Like Prez Johnson said in MGS2 about what would happen if the Patriots would disappear , "picture a massive political vacuum. a space that every power hungry person would try to fill for their own greedy ends" or something like that. Maybe Otacon and the gang would be fighting trying to make sure the world doesnt go to hell in the aftermath of Patriot rule? Meh , Im thinkin too much.
