My number one contender are Yakuza Zero and Yakuza Kiwami, which finally get a Western release after first being released in Japan in early 2015 and early 2016 respectively. Other than that, I can't think of much these days. I'll definitely keep my eye on Death Stranding, but that won't happen until 2018 if I had to guess, and possible Platinum Games, such as NieR: Automata and Scalebound (though I don't have and don't intend to get an Xbox). Oh, yes, Red Dead Redemption 2 and possibly Mass Effect: Andromeda. What I'm really not interested in, even though I used to like the series, is the new Resident Evil, because it feels too much like a departure for me and more like a cheap American horror flick with little charm of it's own. The Evil Within had more of a Resi Vibe. Oh, and I'll stay away from Metal Gear Survive. What are you looking forward to this year?

To be honest, I don't know. One thing I was PUMPED for was Syphon Filter. Third-person shooter that started in the PS1 era. The last game was in 2006~2007 and despite GAZILLION rumours around the net, which claimed a new game would come out, here we are almost 10 years later. Oh well...
Speaking of the Xbox, I'm thinking of the Halo franchise, but sadly I don't have any controllers and accessories for the console, which I don't even know if it still functions...

Only two games I'm interested in are Uncharted and Last of Us.
Anyone have the Arkham Remastered collection? Worth getting?

Yeah, but these days, you hear bad things about graphics, bacause of minor issues From what I saw, there are aesthetic changes, because it's a new engine, but overall it looks pretty. But again, I haven't booted it up, yet. And probably won't anytime soon, considering I'm (re)playing MGSV and Yakuza right now... www.youtube.com/watch?v=fy9iGih34xUkeep in mind, this is the PC version, which looks better than the PS3/360 version. I actually forgot how poor parts of it looked when held up to modern standards... Funny, how perception changes...

Nearly 6 months into the year and Nier: Automata and the new Resident Evil have been successes and are actually games I'm interested in. Mass Effect: Andromeda was a desaster and I'd rather get the 10 year old Mass Effect 1, if any BioWare game at all (beyond KOTOR). I could also see myself playing Horizon: Zero Dawn some time.
Since January, Uncharted and Last of Us have joined my list. And E3 is around the corner, which for me is always a joy to watch, both for really good developers announcing good - or at least interesting - games, and also for laughing at clueless developers and publishers trying to get people excited for some of their sh*ttier ones.

Speaking of Resident Evil 7, their main competitor Silent Hills got shut down. Yeah, sucks I know... Anyway, list of E3 games here. More probably on the way, too! au.ign.com/wikis/e3/Games_at_E3_2017Oh and Horizon 0 Dawn reminds me of Until Dawn.

Yeah, Konami really shot themselves in the foot. But I guess pachislot machines are lucrative I think the best structure for game development is the team structure, where you have a semi-independent company like Naughty Dog, Kojima Productions, CD Projekt RED or Platinum or Team Yakuza and they develope games. Kind of not too big, but big enough for AAA games. And, of course, you need passionate people and teams shouldn't be afraid to let a series end on a high note, rather than continuing a series indefinitely. That's why I'm so curious about Death Stranding, because it's a new IP that doesn't have all this baggage and expectations hinging on it and can do whatever it wants, as long as it's good. Why, because of the "Dawn" in the title? Because otherwise they seem to be nothing alike.

Yeah. Just the name itself is similar. Zone of the Enders and Enders Game are also similar aren't they? Well, at least to me.

Well, just the name. Though I think in terms of story and gameplay (as far as you can talk about gameplay in Ender's Game) they are completely different. Take Star Trek and Star Wars. They sound similar, they are extremely popular, have very passionate fanbases, but are completely different in terms of content and what they are about.

Yeah, true but there are underlying conspiracies in both franchises. Like how MGS contains SO MANY different tangents in the plot.

Well, I guess the whole story in MGS is kinda a mind-fark. If you get what I mean...
